In Salinas, there are professionals called "mindset coaches" who help their clients keep a healthy, constructive outlook on life. As a service to our members, we help them recognize and overcome any self-defeating attitudes, beliefs, or routines that stand in the way of their progress.

Our Salinas mindset coaches may employ strategies from cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, and mindfulness, among others, to assist their clients in reframing their thoughts, altering their perspectives, and building mental fortitude. Along the way, they may also offer accountability and encouragement to their clients as they work toward achieving their goals.

By encouraging our customers to adopt a growth mindset, we hope to aid them in breaking through self-imposed limitations and realizing their full potential.

Mindset Coaching & CBT

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is what we use to help people change their unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving. Here Salinas, we have coaches who specialize in helping people change their mindsets to achieve better results.

Cognitive therapy is predicated on the idea that our ideas, emotions, and actions are all interconnected, and that negative thoughts can have a domino effect on our other mental and emotional states. Our coaches will instruct you on how to recognize and counteract such destructive ideas, and how to substitute more productive and reasonable ones.

If you've struggled in the past with mental health issues like anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, or an eating disorder. Possible connection

Changing you negative thought pattern

Did you know that negative thought patterns is habitual ways of thinking? This self-defeating behavior can contribute to how you view yourself and the world around you. These patterns may include;

Catastrophizing - this involves expecting the worst possible outcome in every situation and assuming that any problem or difficulty will have disastrous consequences.

All-or-nothing thinking - this involves viewing situations in black-and-white terms, with no middle ground or shades of grey. For example, thinking that anything less than perfection is a failure.

Overgeneralization - this involves making sweeping conclusions based on a single negative event or experience. For example, assuming that a single rejection means that you will never find love.

Personalization - this involves assuming that everything that happens is a direct result of one's own actions or shortcomings, even when there is little evidence to support this belief.

Negative self-talk - this involves a pattern of critical and self-defeating thoughts and beliefs about oneself, such as "I'm not good enough" or "I'll never be successful".

Avoidance - this involves avoiding situations or activities that may trigger anxiety or discomfort, which can lead to social isolation and a lack of fulfillment.

Through mindset coaching online and in the Salinas area, we will help you address these issues through additional resources, such as self-help strategies, mindfulness, meditation, and journaling. By identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors, you can develop more positive and adaptive ways of thinking and behaving, leading to a peace.

Negative Self-talk Coaching

Negative self-talk coaching is a type of coaching that aims to address negative self-talk patterns that can contribute to mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. Negative self-talk refers to the internal dialogue or thoughts that people have about themselves that are negative, critical, and self-defeating. This type of thinking can lead to feelings of low self-esteem, hopelessness, and anxiety.

At YANA, our life coaches help you address the negative self-talk and challenge your negative thoughts and beliefs. The purpose of doing this, is to recognize when you are engaging in negative self-talk and challenge the accuracy of those thoughts. We will teach you the strategies to challenge your negative thought patterns to improve your wellbeing.

Module on keeping a journal

Journaling thought modules are a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy used to help people find and question their negative ideas and beliefs. The goal of this method is to help people change their negative thoughts and ideas into ones that are more positive and useful.

Most journaling thought modules have three steps; finding negative thoughts, challenging them, and changing them with positive thoughts.

In the first step, members are asked to figure out what bad thoughts and ideas are making them feel bad. This can be done by putting negative thoughts in a book or on a piece of paper.

In the second step, members are taught to question their negative thoughts by asking themselves things like, "Is this thought true?" and "What evidence do I have to support or refute this thought?" They may also be asked to think of other ways to explain the situation or event that is making them feel bad.

In the third step, you are told to replace your negative thoughts with ones that are more upbeat and helpful. This can be done by writing down positive affirmations, changing negative thoughts into positive ones, or just focusing on the good things about a scenario.

Overall, journaling thought modules can be a helpful tool for people who want to stop negative thinking habits and improve their mental health and well-being. By noticing and questioning negative thoughts, people can build more positive and flexible ways of thinking, which makes them happier and stronger.

Introducing Mirroring Techniques

Mirroring in is a technique our Salinas coaches use to help members feel heard and understood. Mirroring involves reflecting back the client's words, tone, and body language in a non-judgmental and supportive way. This can help the client feel validated, seen, and heard.

When a coach mirrors a client, they may use phrases such as "It sounds like you're feeling...", "I hear that you're saying...", or "What I'm hearing is...". This allows the therapist to demonstrate that they are actively listening and attempting to understand the client's experience.

Mirroring can also be used to help clients gain insight into their own thoughts and feelings. By hearing their own words reflected back to them, clients may be able to gain a new perspective or understand their own experience more deeply.

Overall, mirroring is a technique that can help build rapport between coach and client and improve the relationship. It can also help members feel more comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings and may lead to greater insights and progress in therapy.
