Coaching Mirroring Techniques
Mirroring in is a technique our Lancaster coaches use to help members feel heard and understood. Mirroring involves reflecting back the client's words, tone, and body language in a non-judgmental and supportive way. This can help the client feel validated, seen, and heard.
When a coach mirrors a client, they may use phrases such as "It sounds like you're feeling...", "I hear that you're saying...", or "What I'm hearing is...". This allows the therapist to demonstrate that they are actively listening and attempting to understand the client's experience.
