Mindset Coaching & CBT
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is what we use to help people change their unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving. Here Keller, we have coaches who specialize in helping people change their mindsets to achieve better results.
Cognitive therapy is predicated on the idea that our ideas, emotions, and actions are all interconnected, and that negative thoughts can have a domino effect on our other mental and emotional states. Our coaches will instruct you on how to recognize and counteract such destructive ideas, and how to substitute more productive and reasonable ones.
If you've struggled in the past with mental health issues like anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, or an eating disorder. Possible connection
Changing you negative thought pattern
Did you realize that negative thought patterns can become habitual? This self-defeating behavior can have an impact on how you perceive yourself and the world around you. Among these patterns are;
Catastrophizing is the practice of anticipating the worst-case scenario in every situation and presuming that every problem or difficulty will have devastating results.
All-or-nothing thinking entails seeing events in black-and-white terms, with no gray area or shades of gray in between. For example, believing that anything less than perfection constitutes failure.
Overgeneralization occurs when broad inferences are drawn from a single unpleasant incident or experience. Assuming, for example, that a single rejection means you will never find love
Personalization is the assumption that everything that happens is a direct result of one's own deeds or flaws, even when there is little evidence to support this belief.
Negative self-talk is characterized by a pattern of self-defeating and critical thoughts and attitudes, such as "I'm not good enough" or "I'll never be successful."
Avoidance refers to the avoidance of circumstances or activities that may cause worry or discomfort, which can lead to social isolation and a lack of fulfillment.
We will help you address these challenges through additional tools such as self-help practices, mindfulness, meditation, and journaling through mindset coaching online and in the Keller area. You can build more positive and adaptable ways of thinking and behaving by identifying and confronting negative thought patterns and behaviors, which will lead to peace.
Self-talk coaching for the negative
The goal of negative self-talk coaching is to address negative self-talk habits that may underlie mental health problems including anxiety and depression. People who engage in negative, critical, and self-defeating internal dialogue or thoughts about themselves are said to be engaging in negative self-talk. This kind of thinking can cause feelings of worry, hopelessness, and low self-worth.
At YANA, our life coaches assist you in addressing self-deprecating attitudes and beliefs as well as challenging them. By doing this, you can catch yourself talking negatively to yourself and test the veracity of those beliefs. We can support you if you feel "worthless" or "unlovable."
We'll provide you tips on how to confront your unfavorable thought patterns and enhance your wellbeing.
Module on keeping a journal
Journaling thought modules are a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy used to help people find and question their negative ideas and beliefs. The goal of this method is to help people change their negative thoughts and ideas into ones that are more positive and useful.
Most journaling thought modules have three steps; finding negative thoughts, challenging them, and changing them with positive thoughts.
In the first step, members are asked to figure out what bad thoughts and ideas are making them feel bad. This can be done by putting negative thoughts in a book or on a piece of paper.
In the second step, members are taught to question their negative thoughts by asking themselves things like, "Is this thought true?" and "What evidence do I have to support or refute this thought?" They may also be asked to think of other ways to explain the situation or event that is making them feel bad.
In the third step, you are told to replace your negative thoughts with ones that are more upbeat and helpful. This can be done by writing down positive affirmations, changing negative thoughts into positive ones, or just focusing on the good things about a scenario.
Overall, journaling thought modules can be a helpful tool for people who want to stop negative thinking habits and improve their mental health and well-being. By noticing and questioning negative thoughts, people can build more positive and flexible ways of thinking, which makes them happier and stronger.
Coaching Mirroring Techniques
Our Keller coaches utilize mirroring to help members feel heard and understood. Mirroring entails reflecting back the client's words, tone, and body language in a supportive and nonjudgmental manner. This can assist the client in feeling validated, acknowledged, and heard.
When a coach mirrors a client, they may use phrases like "It sounds like you're feeling...", "I hear that you're saying...", and "What I'm hearing is..." This enables the therapist to demonstrate active attentiveness and an attempt to comprehend the client's experience.
Additionally, mirroring can be used to assist clients in gaining insight into their own thoughts and emotions. By hearing their own words echoed back to them, clients may receive a new perspective or a deeper understanding of their own experience.
Overall, mirroring is a technique that can help develop rapport and strengthen the relationship between coach and client. It can also help members feel more comfortable expressing their thoughts and emotions, which may lead to deeper realizations and greater therapeutic progress.
